Vanilla Tamper
No longer available
The Vanilla Tamper was the first Pullman tamper ever made. It was a direct replacement for the undersized tamper which ships with the Quaha / Imat Junior and Napoletana (Mokita and Mokita Combi) espresso machines.
These machines have become less available in Australia due to importer difficulties, and the popularity of the Deluxe tamper has consistently risen. Furthermore, since these require the user to tamp in an upwards direction (against gravity), experience has shown it to be more difficult to exert the same tamping force as can be achieved with the Deluxe model and at the same level of consistency.
So while it was an improvement on the factory tampers on these machines, the low volume of sales and the inferior results by comparison with the Deluxe tamper justified its removal from the product range.
