Filter Baskets
One of the challenges in making a tamper to such exact tolerances is determing the size of the filter basket it will be used in. To save you the inconvenience of sending your baskets in for measurement, or the risk of taking an incorrect measurement yourself, you can now purchase filter baskets and leave the fine measurements and matching to us. All you have to do is sit back and wait for the perfectly matched pair to arrive and enjoy the results!
We offer baskets both with and without a ridge for the portafilter spring. We feel the ridgeless baskets allow for slightly better results, however if your existing baskets are ridged you may prefer to replace these with ridged baskets. If you decide to purchase ridgeless baskets, we recommend the purchase of a replacement spring and the springs designed for ridged baskets are often too weak to retain a ridgeless basket.
The baskets we sell are premium quality Synesso units as used in some of the world's leading espresso machines. Note that these filter baskets are commercial standard '58mm' baskets, and will only fit machines which accept a 58mm filter basket.
